1. ESCARGOSE

Apparently, the Great Ocean Road has got a new delicacy…snails. That’s right. And they’re in this beer. Blackman’s Brewery in Torquay has gathered a few of its local slimy friends and dropped them into their gose style beer with parsley, thyme and pine nuts for seasoning. Would you slug it? 4.8% ABV (alcohol by volume)

2. LIZARD’S DINNER

The guys at Shifty Lizard Brewing have gone one-up on Blackman’s Brewery’s snail infused gose and taken a literal meaning of their name by dropping their reptile’s dinner – edible crickets – into their bitter beer. We’re not sure how chirpy you’ll feel after trying this one. 4.5%

3. ANGASI COFFIN BAY OYSTER STOUT

We’d never pass on oysters and wine but oysters and stout? Beer Garden Brewing has added real Coffin Bay Angasi Oysters to its stout and is inviting you to give it a try. Perhaps the stout will drown out the flavour of the oysters. Excuse the pun. 7.5%

4. SKITTLEBRAU

Can you taste the rainbow? Quite possibly in Dainton Brewery’s Skittlebrau. It’s all the goodness of Skittles flavours (with extra cherry) and New England IPA. 7%

5. DUBBEL BUBBEL

It’s double the bubbles in this Belgian Dubbel Beer with real bubble gum dropped in. New England Brewing Co. promises it’s safe to swallow! 6%

6. VIOLENT RUMBLE

Everyone’s childhood favourite, Bertie Beetle, has inspired the flavours of this Experimental Beer by Colonial Brewing Co. They say to imagine malt, hops, chocolate and a spike of rum…don’t mind if we do. 8%

7. MISO THIRSTY

The brewers at Willie The Boatman just couldn’t get enough of their love of miso and so decided to add miso paste and seaweed into this classic gose. You might be thirsty for this or something else afterwards. 5%

8. GRANDMA’S JAM CIDER

Cute and delicious at the same time. The team at Devils Brewery found a stash of handmade Tasmanian jams in their grandmother’s cupboard and decided to pop it into their New World Cider. It sounds like a hug in a cup. 8%

9. RACER RED BULL IPA

Missed your morning coffee? Race to Bridge Road Brewers’ stall and get a mouthful of their Red Bull IPA. Be warned, this isn’t your usual Red Bull; the guys imported and added half a pallet of Thai Red Bull to the beer. If you’ve been to Thailand, you’ll know that stuff is basically Red Bull on steroids. 6%

10. THE BELGIAN BREAKFAST

This sounds like our favourite kind of beer. A dark, rich Belgian quad style injected with waffles, figs and a nip of bourbon. We’ll take five rashes of bacon and a side of scrambled eggs to go with that. 9%
