A distillery and bar that brings the world of gin to an industrial backdrop. Walking into the garage-like setting, the many green plants hanging from the ceiling and walls are the first things that catch your eye. The botanical theme is carried out in Poor Toms’ menu too, taking advantage of seasonal and fresh produce. If you are a fan of marble countertops, homemade furniture and have a dog that is as thirsty as you are, stop by Poor Toms for a relaxing and unique drink.
KANGAROO ISLAND SPIRITS – SA
The original Australian gin distillery is a must-see for all lovers of this botanical spirit. Set in a garden-like backyard setting, just a 90 minute trip from Adelaide, it is the perfect short day trip. Between the welcoming and knowledgeable staff, and the delicious menu of both food and drinks, Kangaroo Island Spirits is a top spot to relax and try some tasty gin.

If you need a trip to the beach but can’t get away, there’s an excellent loophole, and it’s called Manly Spirits Co. Set in an industrial neighbourhood, the beach-y and relaxing vibe of this distillery and bar will give you those much-needed vacay feels. Whether you prefer to take a tour or just sit at the bar with friends, this spot is a wonderful break from the everyday grind.

A modern distillery overlooking local vineyards, the Settlers Artisan Spirits’ Distillery Door is the perfect location to taste some fine gins and whiskies. A short 50-minute drive from Adelaide’s CBD, this medium-sized distillery offers tastings ($5 each) and master classes for both gin and whisky. Alongside its delicious drinks, the venue offers local artisan cheese assortments, specifically chosen to accompany the delicious drink options.
