Now in its third year, the East Malvern Food & Wine Festival will be taking over the suburb’s Central Park for a day of delicious wines, craft beers and ciders and quality local produce.
Last year’s event saw over 3,000 Melbournians descend on the festival to sample more than 100 wines, craft beers and ciders as well as local and regional delights.
This year, 20+ Victorian wine regions will be on show, including Bendigo, Heathcote, Pyrenees, Yarra Valley, Rutherglen and Sutton Range, along with an alley dedicated to craft beer and cider producers, such as Coldstream Brewery, Yulli’s Brew and Bad Shepherd Brewing Co. Visitors can wander around, taste test and meet the passionate winemakers and brewers behind these fine drinks.
If cocktails are more your thing, both Mr. Black and Four Pillars will be there, together with Aperol Spritz. Relax into the summer spirit at Aperol Spritz’s chill lounge and bar area, where guests will be treated to a central-European inspired antipasto tasting menu and spritzs galore.
If you find yourself sporting a well-earned hunger, there will be food trucks and pop-ups by some of Melbourne’s favourite restaurants, including Richmond Oysters & Seafood Tapas, Nepal Dining and Assaggi Italiani. Timboon Fine Ice Cream is on board to satisfy those sweet cravings with its award-winning ice cream.
There will be stalls stocking locally produced cheeses, gourmet condiments, bespoke puddings and other festive treats just in time for the Christmas season. Keep an eye out for producers such as Canning Free Range Butchery, Goldfields Farmhouse Cheese, Cider Tonic, Red Rock Olives, In2Tea, Boondero Walnuts and more.
