Meet The Kings of Prohibition

Emerging from the lively era of the 1920s, the era of Prohibition provided the perfect backdrop for the emergence of the notorious ‘Kings of Prohibition’. Spanning from 1920 to 1933, this era witnessed a nationwide constitutional prohibition on alcohol production, import, transport, and sales in the United States. Seizing the opportunity swiftly, organized crime figures entered the scene, sparking a surge in bootlegging as speakeasies sprouted nationwide, offering illicit spirits. This dry period birthed captivating legends around the bootleggers themselves. Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Bugsy Siegel, and Stella Beloumant, among others, etched their names into wine history, leaving an indelible mark on the global wine distribution landscape.

Today, every bottle of Kings of Prohibition resurrects the spirit of these notorious ‘bootleggers’, each with a compelling story to recount.

THE WINES

The ‘Kings of Prohibition’ collection now proudly boasts a lineup of seven distinct varieties: Red Blend, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Malbec, Old Tawny, Old Muscat, and Chardonnay. Crafted to mirror the complexity and intensity of the vibrant personalities gracing their labels, these wines deliver a smooth and unforgettable experience.

RED BLEND

Celebrating the legendary Al Capone, ‘Kings of Prohibition’ Red Blend is a bright crimson red color with a dark purple core. Flavors of rich plum and black fruit, hints of vanilla and chocolate, and underlying black pepper, cinnamon spice, and licorice. Enjoy with Wagyu steak and a side of crispy fries.

SHIRAZ

Lucky Luciano, a New York City bootlegger and gangster, appears on the ‘Kings of Prohibition’ Shiraz. From the Barossa Valley, it has dark cherries and plum aromas that integrate with classy oak and a hint of spice. The palate is bold and rich with structured tannin balanced across a luscious finish. Pair it with grass fed rib-eye and mushrooms.

CHARDONNAY

‘Kings of Prohibition’ Chardonnay has aromas of stone fruit, rockmelon, white peach, and pineapple. Named after Nevada bootlegger Stella Beloumant, this round and luscious wine has layers of texture on the well-balanced palate. Enjoy alongside grilled chicken with roasted pumpkin and potato.
