Just in time to celebrate World Whisk(e)y Day next Saturday (18 May) NOLA Smokehouse and Bar in Barangaroo has just unveiled a new whiskey lounge.
Housing over 700 bottles, they’ve just added 80 new bottles of American Whiskey valued at $15,000. Which is the largest selection in the whole of Australia.
What makes this bar extra special is that it’s home to the only bottle in the Southern Hemisphere of one of America’s most expensive and rare bourbon whiskeys. The 1990 O.F.C from Buffalo Trace, which is available for $750 per 30ml nip.
The whisky lounge bar has been designed to match their high-end bottles, with a hand-crafted copper benchtop that sits atop a base of oak timber in front of a glowing, glass-door cabinet crafted from black stained oak and antique mirror panels.
Their vast drinks menu includes American whiskies, whiskey flights, cocktails, wine and other spirits. Some of their whiskey highlights include the WhistlePig Old World 12yo ($50/nip), WhistlePig Farmstock Rye Crop No.002 ($39/nip) and the discontinue Elmer T.Lee Single Kentucky Straight Bourbon ($80/nip).
