Oktoberfest doesn’t have to be all tacky fake lederhosen and tasteless gigantic beers…
Sydney’s Inner West Brewery Association is injecting some street cred to the worldwide beer event by uniting eight of the local craft breweries for two days of live music, unique brews, food trucks, games and more.
Craft superstars Young Henrys, Willie the Boatman, Wayward Brewing Co., The Grifter Brewing Co., Batch Brewing Co., Sauce Brewing Co., Philter Brewing and Malt Shovel will unite to transform the Factory Theatre into a beer hall and beer garden.
On the entertainment front, a chock-a-block program will see acts such as heavy rockers Bad//Dreems, indie rock trio Philadelphia Grand Jury, slacker rock band The Chats, garage-rockers Bloods and rock and roll legends JD and the Hunger Men hit the stage.
Show off your set of pipes with Frankie’s Pizza’s resident Rock’n’Roll Karaoke with Dave Eastgate or battle your mates at one of the free arcade games, including Mario Kart ’64, care of 1989 Bar & Arcade pop-up ‘Beercade’ on Freeplay. There will also be major prizes up for grabs with the Mayor of the Inner-West, Darcy Byrne’s, Brewery Bingo, seriously delicious slow-cooked meats from Bovine & Swine Barbecue Co. and much, much more.
