It’s news to no one that Australians absolutely love an espresso martini. We’re coffee mad and that, of course, translates into an unquenchable thirst for the good stuff in any way we can consume it – in a cup, in an ice cream cone, in an avocado(?) or in a delicious cocktail.
Hence it just made sense that when Tia Maria wanted to celebrate International Coffee Day by making the world’s biggest espresso martini, they chose our shores to do it on.
The coffee liqueur brand will be taking over Sydney’s Cruise Bar on October 1 and will attempt to create the world’s largest espresso martini with a 600 litre cocktail that will stand 2.2m tall, the equivalent of 5,000 single serves.
To break that down for you, that’s 286 bottles of Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur, 286 bottles of vodka and 200 litres of Vittoria Coffee.
The brand has invited you to come down to the bar and celebrate on the day, offering free Australian Vittoria Coffee from 10am – 12pm and a complimentary Tia Maria Espresso Martini from midday onwards. Guests are also invited to try one of Tia Maria’s unique Coffee Project cocktails, including the Tia Popcorn Frappe, the Tia Coffee Tonic and the Tia Flat White Russian.
The best bit? Registration is free! Click here to sign up for one of the two afternoon sessions and get set for an afternoon of coffee-fuelled craziness!
