Flecha Azul, the Tequila brand backed by actor Mark Wahlberg, has made its way into the Australian market this week, marking its third foray onto the global stage following Mexico and Canada.
What’s more, Mark Wahlberg will be making use of his time in Australia to help promote the brand.
“I’m excited to be here as Australians get to experience their first taste of Flecha Azul,” said Wahlberg.
“This is an additive-free, authentic Mexican tequila, and my goal is for the world to try it! Australia is a huge step in that direction and we’re so happy to be here.”
Included in the Flecha Azul Tequila range is the Flecha Azul Blanco ($120), Flecha Azul Reposado ($130), and the Flecha Azul Añejo ($160).
“To have Mark Wahlberg supporting the launch of Flecha Azul in Australia is super exciting, but we also know the product itself will do a lot of the talking,” said Michael Cox, Head of Sales at Vanguard Luxury Brands, the Australian importer of Flecha Azul.
“The best bars around the country will be getting their hands on this award-winning product, and our exclusive retail partnership with Coles Liquor for launch — who will be widely stocking three products — will see consumers gain directaccess.”
The Flecha Azul Tequila range is already available at select First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars stores. Wahlberg has already been spotted at a few signing bottles.
“The launch comes as the country is experiencing a tequila boom, with sales across our stores almost doubling in the past five years, making it one of the fastest growing spirits in the market,” said Mia Lloyd, Coles Liquor General Manager.
