Emerging from the lively era of the 1920s, the era of Prohibition provided the perfect backdrop for the emergence of the notorious ‘Kings of Prohibition’. Spanning from 1920 to 1933, this era witnessed a nationwide constitutional prohibition on alcohol production, import, transport, and sales in the United States. Seizing the opportunity swiftly, organized crime figures entered the scene, sparking a surge in bootlegging as speakeasies sprouted nationwide, offering illicit spirits. This dry period birthed captivating legends around the bootleggers themselves. Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Bugsy Siegel, and Stella Beloumant, among others, etched their names into wine history, leaving an indelible mark on the global wine distribution landscape.

Today, every bottle of Kings of Prohibition resurrects the spirit of these notorious ‘bootleggers’, each with a compelling story to recount.
